3. Counter-Notices

If you are a user who believes that material you contributed was removed by mistake or misidentification (for example, you have proof the material is verifiably in the public domain), you may file a counter-notice. Please contact us at the email above with your reasoning, the URL of the removed material, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake.

4. Repeat Infringer Policy

Because the Handwritium Archive is a curated platform operated by a central team rather than a user-upload platform (like YouTube), we actively vet the public domain status of the files we index. If we discover that a source we pull from repeatedly violates copyright law, we will permanently sever our connection to that source to protect the integrity of the Archive.

As stated in our Terms & Conditions, we are just people trying to archive historical and public media. If you are an independent author or creator and find your work here by mistake, you do not need to hire a lawyer to send us a formal legal threat.
